Unique Sports Awards is the result of one person's passion for sports and interest in technology. It started as a hobby making unique gifts for athletes, coaches, and friends. It evolved into the business that it has today. Bruce Calvert was the original owner, in the early 2000’s. He developed the idea of creative and unique sports awards and began to market it to coaches throughout the different sports communities.
In 2007, the company was bought by Jim and Barbara rice who continued to produce the high quality sports awards that people had come to expect from Unique Sports Awards. During this time, Matthew Zuech a coach in Toms River, NJ utilized the services of both Jim and Barbara and Bruce to create the unique and special awards that he gave out to his players in both of the sports he coached, Lacrosse and Volleyball. Impressed by the awards and the pride he took in giving them, Mr. Zuech bought the business from Jim and Barbara. Because of his extensive background in Graphic Design and Technology, he has been able to add several new product lines to the Unique Sports Awards line-up and now offers a full line of event balls for many different sports.
Mr. Zuech remains dedicated to using the same principals used by the past owners of pride, workmanship and cost effective design to create truly unique commemorative articles that will be cherished for a lifetime.
No hidden set up fees, engraving, or art fees are ever assessed. The prices listed include the cost of the finished product which allows us to make any award as personal as a buyer needs.
We encourage our customers to allow enough lead time to make sure that we have the stock necessary to produce the items you need. Generally, 21 days will allow us to complete the items with plenty of time before your event. However, rush orders are also welcome, but may incur certain rush fees in order for us to acquire the stock needed for your event. That said, as a coach, who has been crushed by excessive shipping and handling, Mr. Zuech strongly believes that the customer should never have to pay more than the actual shipping costs for any item. Our customers will only ever pay the actual cost of shipping plus packaging material and not a penny more not even on rush items.
